I wrote this song while trapped in my house during the Oregon Wildfires in the summer of 2020. The whole state was more or less burning to the ground and the air outside was thick with toxic smoke. At sunset the sky was a dark, ominous orange glow. This was also at the height of the COVID pandemic as well as the height of massive social unrest due to the police brutality protests. It was difficult to not feel like the world was unraveling. So, yeah.... I wrote this song with those feelings in my head/heart.
